Meeting with National Research Institute of Science of France

The meeting was held on the 30-th of June between the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation and the National Research Institute of Science of France (Irstea), which aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two states. The research centre was represented by: Raoul Mille (Director International Relations), Pierrick Givone (Director General) and Terry Burte (Attache for Scientific and University Cooperation, who is also a representative of the French Embassy in Georgia) The attendants discussed policies and targets of the SRNSF and the research centre. The French representatives focused on interests and directions of Irstea in their presentation. They expressed their readiness and desire to collaborate tightly with Georgian scientists (they are ready to develop research projects for “Horizon 2020” program), to share experience to interested figures, to collaborate with policy making agencies in the field of environmental safety and agriculture for defining public policy.

BSH international Conference "EU-Black Sea Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation - towards a jointly agreed STI programme"

Within the framework of the Black Sea Horizon Project, the International Centre for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) successfully organized an international Conference in Athens, on 8 May 2017 entitled “EU - Black Sea Cooperation in Science, Technology & Innovation: towards a jointly agreed STI programme”. Through interactive sessions, more than 70 participants from the field of STI policy making, policy delivery and analysis from the EU and Black Sea countries, had the opportunity to reflect, discuss and endorse recommendations to improve the framework conditions and to mitigate remaining obstacles for bi-regional STI cooperation. Back to back with the Black Sea Horizon Conference, the ICBSS hosted also the General Assembly Meeting of the Black Sea Horizon Project, with the participation of all partners and the preparatory workshop for the Black Sea Horizon 2020 Summer School on Social Sciences and Humanities, to be held in Yerevan, on 10-12 July 2017. Meeting with ELSEVIERI’s representatives

On June 28 Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation hosted working meeting. Representatives from Ministry of Education and Science of Georgian among ELSEVIER i’s collaborators. Both sides discussed about currently running projects as well as future collaboration. ELSEVIER is a leading online publisher which includes recent published works, books, articles and etc. Shota Rustaverli National Science Foundation has been collaborated with ELSEVIER since 2014. Georgian scientists are able to use ELSEVIER i’s date basses for their scientific work. It is free of charge. 21 Organizations which are the part of consortium has used ELSEVIER i’s basses since 2014.   Representatives of ELSEVIER talked about different direction in scientific analytics. Suggestions were listened by representatives of Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia as well as collaborators at Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.

SRNSF announces

The aim of the competition is to encourage Georgian and international researchers for active and productive work and engagement in science and technology, as well as to appreciate their important achievements, encourage and promote research on Georgian studies and Georgia.  The competition includes a single award for a scientist/research group. Award of 2017 competition will be issued in following categories: Best foreign scientist of the year in the field of Georgian studies Best young scientist of the year in the field of Georgian studies. Best scientist in the field of Georgian studies.
