Information For Applicants to the Starting and Consolidator Grant 2019 Calls

Shota Rustaveli National Science foundation of Georgia disseminates information about Starting and Consolidator Grant 2019 calls funded by European Research Council (ERC) . ERC Starting Grants – grants for young researchers to build their own careers. Funding for per grant - 5 million Euro ; The duration of the project is 5 years. Starting Grant 2019 Call opening: 14 September of 2018; Deadline: 17 October of 2018. ERC Consolidator Grants - are designed to back up researchers who want to establish their research teams and continue developing a successful career in Europe Funding for the Grant is 2 million Euro and the project duration is up to 5 years. ERC 2019 Working Programme and Expected Changes To ERC calls

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia disseminates information about the European Research Council (ERC ) working programme which is established by the Scientific Council of the ERC and subsequently adopted by the European Commission . The adoption of the 2019 ERC Work Programme, originally planned for mid-July, is expected in mid-September. An update on the expected opening date will be posted on this website on 4 September. The 2019 Starting Grant call , which was expected to be opened in mid-July, will open upon Work Programme adoption. The Starting Grant call will be open for a shorter time than usual, as the call closure date is expected to be 17 October 2018. The 2019 Synergy Grant call, which was expected to be opened also in mid-July, will open upon Work Programme adoption. The Synergy Grant call will be open for a shorter time than usual, as the call closure date is expected to be 8 November 2018. The ERC Work Programme 2019 has been established by the Scientific Council but not yet adopted by the European Commission. The Work Programme established by the Scientific Council is similar to the Work Programme 2018. ERC Projects in Mathematics

To date, the European Research Council (ERC) has supported 377 projects in mathematics, representing more than EUR 600 million of investment in this research area. Innovative Medicines Initiative Funding Opportunities

The Calls give researchers from diverse sectors the opportunity to participate in ambitious public-private partnerships that will pave the way for the development of the medicines of the future. innovative medicines initiative is a partner organization of European Union and their joint budget - 3.27 billion Euro (Between 2014 – 2020) is focused on funding innovative researches for medicines future development. UNESCO ICT in Education Prize call for nominations opens

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia disseminates information about the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Education . Funded by the Kingdom of Bahrain, this year’s Prize will recognize projects and programmes that leverage innovative technologies to ensure education for excluded vulnerable groups. This year the Prize will highlight projects that use integrated solutions that blend commonly used technology with frontier ICT applications, such as breakthrough technology to overcome infrastructure barriers; solutions to reduce the cost of access; online learning innovations; intelligent learning management systems; machine translation; big data; and imagery technology. Two awards will be granted, and each recipient will receive a monetary award of US$ 25,000 during the Award Ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. Individuals, institutions and non-governmental organizations are invited to approach the National Commissions for UNESCO of their countries or NGOs in official partnerships with UNESCO and complete the online submission form . ERC Advanced Grant Call 2018

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia disseminates information about European Research Council(ERC) Advanced Grant call 2018 as part of HORIZON 2020. The call 2018 is open from July 17 and the deadline is 30 August 2018 .   The call will be open to established, leading researchers of any nationality and from any field of research, with a track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. Legally the host institutions must be based in one of the EU member states or one of the associated countries, including Georgia. Advanced Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are already established research leaders with a recognized track record of research achievements. LOW COST SPACE LAUNCH

Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia disseminates information about the European Commission Prize in contest, which aims the solution for launching light satellites into Low-Earth Orbit (LEO). This contest runs under Horizon 2020, the EU's Research and Innovation Framework Programme and Prize value is 10 million Euro . The solution will enhance on European access to space and associated technological non-dependence and thereby will provide strategic and competitive advantages for European companies, SMEs, universities and research organizations. Small satellites are well-suited for most kinds of institutional and commercial use: wireless communications networks, Internet services, broader connectivity, scientific observation, data gathering, Earth imaging and positioning. The contest is open to all legal entities (i.e. natural or legal persons, including international organizations) or groups of legal entities established in an EU Member State or in a country associated to Horizon 2020.
