Manuscript Heritage of Tao-Tlarjeti

On June 28, 2018, the international conference dedicated to the 60 th anniversary of establishment of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia was held. The Conference “ Manuscript Heritage of Tao-Tlarjeti   “  aimed at presenting the research findings of the project “Manuscript Heritage of Tao-Tlarjeti“ funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. The Principal Investigator of the project – Mzia Surguladze, and participants: Nestan Chkhikvadze, Maia Karanadze, Lela Shatirishvili, Nikoloz Zhgenti, Eter Edisherashvili. The presenters reviewed the historic-geographical aspects of the Tao-Klarjeti in the scientific literature and manuscripts. The project is divided into sections in accordance to centuries (IX-X, XI-XIII and XIV-XVI). Each chapter is grouped an analyzed based on the manuscripts of each period of time. “Clinical Ethics Committee’s (CEC) activity at the Georgian Hospitals”

On June 29, working meeting was held at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The aim of the meeting was to present results of the research- “Clinical Ethics Committee’s (CEC) activity at the Georgian Hospitals” funded by Shota Rustaveli National Foundation  and revision of the elaborated action plan by Dr.Nato Pitskhelauri. Few days ago she has presented results of the study at the International Conference -,,ICCEC 2018” at the University of Oxford (Oxford, England). Experts from the Department of Medical Ethics, Faculty of Medicine (TSU) and experts of bioethics have participated in the meeting. Dr. Pitskhelauri has presented results of the qualitative, as well as quantitative surveys regarding the CECs’ activity in Georgian hospitals. Similar survey hasn’t been conducted since 2003. Results were quite interesting, they included the following aspects: committees’ structure and membership, experience of CEC members, their education and training, cases discussed during the year, identified ethical dilemmas and barriers etc. Based on the results of the qualitative research SWOT analysis was held. Action plane has been developed in order to raise effectiveness of the CEC’s. After presentation interesting discussion took place and young scientist has noted that those remarks will be taken in to consideration, and at the final stage of the project monography will be published together with the summary report, which will be presented for the scientific and medical society by the end of the current year.

"Georgian proverbs and cultural models of adaptive behavior"

On June 27, 2018, the presentation of the grant call for PhD research, funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The PhD thesis defence of the PhD student – Dimitri Chubinidze, faculty of Psychology and Education was entitled as "Georgian proverbs and cultural models of adaptive behavior". Consultation meeting

On June 26, 2018, at 16:00 the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia hosted the group consultation within the frame of Scientific-Research Grant Call for " Halyomorpha Halys Elimination State Programme 2018" at the conference hall.  Coordinators reviewed the terms abd programme of the call and answered the questions.

Interim evaluation results of the grant call for Young Scientists

Overall, 107 project proposals have been registered on the grant call for Young Scientists, 2018 and all 107 project proposals have passed technical eligibility check and are entitled for evaluation.

International scientific forum “Remembering the first Georgian democratic republic after 100 years: a model for Europe?”

On June 25, at 10:00 the international scientific forum – “Remembering Georgia’s first democratic republic after 100 years : a model for Europe?” was opened. The forum was funded in frames of the call funded by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, National archives of Georgia, National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, Georgian National Museum and ARISC. The event will last until June 30. 2018, and the International Scientific Conference will be held on June 25-26 and International Summer school will be held during 27-30 June. The conference will be attended by Georgian and international professor s and researchers of the region. 13 Georgian and 8 Foreigner students and young scientists from the leading universities will participate in the summer school. The forum is dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of the establishment of the first democratic republic of Georgia and aims to analyze the time of the first democratic republic.
