“Effect of Arsenic on rat behavior and brain neuroarchitecture”
Seminar of project “Effect of Arsenic on rat behavior and brain neuroarchitecture” was held on 30 of April, 2017.The project is funded by SRNSF. The project manager is Tamar Bikashvili. Project been performed in I.Beritashvili Centre of Experimental Biomedicine, Ilia State University, and also part of work was done at Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
Heavy metals remain a serious environmental problem due to their toxic effects. Using highly advanced and sophisticated morphometric methods such as confocal microscopy, immunocytochemical electron microscopy and well-established behavioral tests, was investigated the effect of Arsenic exposure on learning and memory, in combination with morphological changes in hippocampus and Cortex. It was evaluated the degree of damage caused by Arsenic both in adult and young brain. These findings are contributed to the knowledge of Arsenic cytotoxicity
