SRNSFG announces Call for MA research grants 2018

Title of the call:   MA research grants Call Abbreviation:  MR Aim of the call: MA research  grants aims at  supporting quality enhancement in scientific studies, raising academic level and development of research skills - related to the master's thesis of students enrolled at the accredited Master’s educational program, as well as improvement of higher educational institutions research capacity and integration of research in learning processes and support development of thematic and/or interdisciplinary research activities. SRNSFG announces the call for the Conference Grants 2018

Title of the call: Call for the Conference Grants Call abbreviation: CG Aim of the call Aim of the call is to support international regional scientific conferences, congresses, symposia and seminars in Georgia, to share information and experience, development of scientific research, popularization of Georgian research in the international journals and scientific publications, and Georgian scientists’ integration in the modern global challenges. In frames of the grant call of 2018, targeted conferences dedicated to the 100 years anniversary of the first Georgian republic and first Georgian University can be also funded. Project proposal type:  Institutional/Group Major terms of the call Conference funded in frames of the call should be held from September 1, 2018 to September 1, 2019. As for the targeted Conference dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of the establishment of First Democratic Republic of Georgia and 100 th anniversary of establishment of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University should be held from September 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. Funding requested from the SRNSFG should not exceed 40 000 GEL per project. Amount for the conference organizers (key personnel should not exceed 5 % of the total budget of the project. SRNSFG announces the Call for Applied Research State grants 2018

Call title Call for Applied Research State grants 2018 Call abbreviation – AR Call goals: Goal of the state grant call for the Applied Research (hereinafter referred to as “the grant call”) is to support: a) Further development of the applied and technological scientific research; b) Development of the long-term innovative and technological applied research projects in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medical and health sciences, and agricultural sciences of the Georgian Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) with international partners and non-scientific sector (private sector – small and medium enterprises, non-governmental organizations, public sector); c) Providing Technology and innovation transfer reflecting on the social and economic challenges of the State; d) Funding the significant research projects through the open competition; e) Implementation of the technology transfer-oriented projects with the commercialization perspective; f) Identifying and supporting innovation researches with the high technological outcomes on the local or/and international market, reflecting on the existed problems in development of New Technologies;   Project proposal type – institutional Basic terms and conditions of the call: Projects in the three categories will be funded under the call: 1st category – pilot grant for supporting the technology transfer for organization(s); 2nd category – grant for innovative research and technological development for consortium; 3rd category – proof of research concept: grant for infrastructure, training and cluster development for consortium;   Duration of the project can be 2, 3 or 4 years, and the duration of reporting period is defined as 1 year (12 months).   Requested budget from the foundation for one organization should not exceed 140 000 GEL per year and 420 000 GEL per consortium.   The grant budget can include the following categories of expenditure: The sum of monthly amounts of funding the key personnel and supporting personnel should not exceed 50 % of the requested budget from SRNSFG; In addition, the call aims at supporting exchange of knowledge and experience, promoting development of scientific research at local research institutions in compliance with international standards, promoting cooperation between the local scientists and our compatriots working abroad and their return to Georgia by funding innovative research projects.  The call enables Georgian scientists be familiar with new information and modern technologies. Title of the Call The joint call 2018 of the French National Center for Scientific Research and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia – International Programme for Scientific Cooperation (PICS) Call abbreviation: CNRS PICS Aim of the Call : to enhance and expand scientific cooperation opportunities between Georgia and France, to support Georgian scientists’ involvement in the joint research activities and promote their integration into the European scientific research area. Project type: Institutional Duration of the Project: 36 months Major terms and conditions of the joint call: the major aim of the call is to submit the joint project proposal and experience between the Georgian and French scientists and at least one joint scientific publication. SRNSFG announces 2018 call for PhD Programmes

Title of the Call Call for  PhD programmes Call abbreviation – PHDF   Aim of the call The call aims at supporting the development of the intellectual capabilities and scientific quality, enhanced scientific capabilities of the HEIs, providing proper environment for scientific research, integrating young scientists into international scientific community, identification of young, talented scientists and supporting their research capabilities, advancement of the high quality research in the country, increasing the academic level of PhD educational programmes and providing proper conditions for young researchers.   Project proposal type –  Individual Major terms and conditions of the Call: Project proposals can be submitted in fields defined by scientific field classifier: Natural studies; Engineering and technology; Medical and health sciences; Agricultural sciences; Social Sciences; Humanities Georgian Studies. Financial requirements: Funding required from the SRNSFG should not exceeded 10 500 GEL (6 months) per period; PhD student’s scholarship should not exceed 5250 GEL (6 months)  per period; Duration of the project: 6-36 months (in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the call). Call administration calendar:   April 5 –  Call announcement; April 24, May 24, and June 12 -  group consultations; June 14 –  deadline for sending questions electronically; From June 1 st to June 21, 16:00 PM –  dates for electronic registration in GMUS; June 22, 16:00 PM –  deadline for providing the application document at the SRNSFG office June – July – technical expertise of the submitted projects; July  – announcement of the results of technical expertise – information about the projects cancelled due to incompliance with the terms and conditions of the call; July  – August – evaluation of submitted projects; September -  publishing results; September  – October - signing the grant agreement.
