Why is it “NEW”? Counterpart countries are expanded to countries around the world in Open Partnership. (No counterpart agreement is required.) Cf. The aim of the call : Activities under STCU Targeted Research and Development Initiatives (TRDI) program intend to enhance Georgia’s international scientific reputation, stimulate local expertise, foster the creation of new industries, encourage international partnership and investment and help strengthen science as a national priority. STCU supports participation of former weapons scientists, engineers and next generation of scientists in developing long term sustainable career. The Targeted R&D Initiatives Programme implemented jointly by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (SRNSF) and Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU) s upports advanced research in Georgia’s priority research domains such as: Life science and biotechnology; Information and communication technologies; New materials. The STCU and the SRNSF encourage the greatest possible participation of regional organizations and scientists (i.e., those located outside the city of Tbilisi) in the proposed projects. Interdisciplinary projects as well as those which bring together several scientific institutes will have an advantage in the competition. The two institutions provide funds to implement projects within TRDI framework under 50 50% cost sharing arrangement. Target Group:  Successful Georgian scientists working in foreign universities, scientific-research institutes, independent research centers; Georgian higher educational organizations, scientific-research centers and scientists working there. The aim of the call :  The International Scientific Cooperation Project (PICS) is a scientific project prepared and presented jointly by two research teams: one at the CNRS and (in this case) the other - team of Georgia’s researchers. Over a period of non-renewable 3 years, it aims to consolidate and formalize ongoing cooperation with a foreign partner has already resulted in one or more joint publications. PICS allows the team from a laboratory affiliated with the CNRS (UPR / UMR) receive additional funds (usually between 5,000 and € 7,000 per year) to finance missions, seminars and work meetings. A call for proposals is published annually on the website of the CNRS European research and international cooperation office (DERCI) and simultaneously SRNSF webpage.  The two-stage application process begins on March 1 and finishes on the first week in June. Funding begins at the start of the following year. Before submitting a proposal, CNRS researchers must seek approval from the relevant thematic institute. Once they have obtained it, they can request an application form from DERCI. The foreign partner must simultaneously submit a proposal to their home institution. A provisional budget is to be presented with the research project proposal.    Duration:  36 months. The aim of the call :  The aim of the call is to promote cooperation between Georgian and Italian scientists and research centers; to support the mobility of researchers of two countries; to provide funds for joint research projects and joint workshops; to strengthen Georgia’s scientific-research potential; to foster the integration of scientific community into international research area and creation of new collaborative groups/networks. The programme provides 2 types of grants for: a) Joint Research Projects; b) Joint Seminars; Target Group:  Higher educational organizations of Georgia and Italy, scientific-research institutes, independent research centers. The Aim of the Program: The aim of the Program jointly administered by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (SRNSF) and Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) is to: Promote cooperation between German and Georgian scientists and research centers; Enable Georgian students the access to JÜLICH world-leading scientific research centre to experience and conduct frontier research in fundamental and applied sciences; Assist JÜLICH in recruiting the best and the brightest students from Georgian universities and prepare Master and PhD theses for further progress of Georgian science. Georgian Master and PhD students granted by JÜLICH and SRNSF under the Call (up to 3 in each category) will get the opportunity to carry out a research project at JÜLICH during their internship, and to establish long-term cooperation with researchers in JÜLICH as well as in German universities or non-university research institutions in the following agreed research fields: Mathematics, Information Technologies; Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences; Life Science and Health. Target Group:  As part of the program, MA and PhD students of the Georgian Universities’ consortium - Ivane Javakhisvhili Tbilisi State University (TSU), Georgia Technical University (GTU) and Ilia State University (ISU) - are enabled to visit Jülich Center and work on research projects (MA and PhD thesis) in collaboration with German academic supervisors. The Aim of the Program : To give an opportunity for leading Georgian scientists (physicists, engineers and technicians) to participate in international state-of-the-art research projects and deepen scientific-technical ties by cooperation with European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR). It is worthy to mention that researchers will use the outcomes resulted from the cooperation only for nonmilitary purposes. The involvement of Georgian scientists in international projects of the abovementioned centers will be possible by sharing of human resources, as well as by provision of access to Georgian scientists selected on a competitive basis for the necessary technology, equipment, materials and infrastructure. Target Group:  Georgian higher educational and research institutes with relevant competence in such fields as experimental and theoretical physics, cosmic-ray physics, electronics, information technologies, coordinates computation, young scientists, doctoral students. The following higher educational organizations and research institutes can participate in research projects leaded by International Centers: Three (3) Institutes of the Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (High Energy Physics Institute, A. Razmadze Mathematical Institute, E. Andronikashvili Institute of Physics,); Ilia State University and Georgian Technical University.
